VIRTUAL : (BEGINNER) Basic Foundation Workshop

VIRTUAL BASIC FOUNDATION POLYMER CLAY WORKSHOP - A 3.5hrs session

 ► Learn how to create your own contemporary polymer clay earrings (alongside with me!)  at the comfort of your home!

- This workshop is suitable for all beginners who have no prior working experiences with polymer clay as we will be covering all the basic fundamentals of working with polymer clay!Like what type of brand we use for our clay, what tools we use for texturing and how we bake our dangles so that they are not easily breakable.

- It will be an intensive 3.5hrs virtual session where we will teach you two different techniques to create your own abstract and floral earrings in the class!

- The class size will be kept small to a maximum of 10 pax per session so we will still be able to provide close attention to each participant.

►PRICE : $100 PER PAX

►Virtual Workshop will be conducted Via Zoom.

  (Participants' video feeds has to be on throughout the session)

► The class will be conducted by Wendy, the crafter behind Why Not Clay. She is self taught and have been playing with polymer clay for 4 years! She loves making 3D designs on her earrings, if you love to learn more about how she does her work, this is the best opportunity to meet her and have a chat.

< WHAT WILL BE COVERED IN THE CLASS?>

1) We will do an introduction to the basic fundamentals of polymer clay.
- Various polymer clay brand introduction
- Tools to use
- Conditioning of clay
- How to avoid bubbles/fingerprint
- 3D texturing techniques

2) Crucial baking information ( How to PREVENT clay from breaking)

3) Sanding and drilling techniques

4)Assembling of Earrings ( What type of glue is best suited to be use with polymer clay?)

5)We will briefly touch on the following topics if time permits:
-Marbling
-Skinner blend gradient

6)FAQS -For those who love to ask more, can do so after the demostration.

<Materials >

► Do note that course materials will not be included in this virtual workshop, you may wish to purchase the list of items required in your local craft store. Or you may consider purchasing our beginner starter kit (SGD $69) which will includes all the materials/ tools needed for the workshop.

*Once you have  purchased a slot of our virtual workshop , we will drop you an email ( within 3 days) to provide you a detailed description (with images) of the tools needed and how to connect to the scheduled zoom session.

► Our Beginner Starter kit cost SGD$79 usually, but you will enjoy a special rate of SGD$69 if you purchase with any of our virtual workshops.  ( Free shipping fees) 

* Do note that for international shipping, it can take 2-4weeks for the parcel to reach you. we will not be able to guarantee that the kit will reach you before the virtual workshop as it depends on the date of your purchase!

► Do note that you will require to have a home oven ( oven that enables you to adjust the temperature and comes with a timer)  to bake the clay pieces.

Items to purchase before the workshop

1. Polymer clay ( Sculpey Premo or Souffle)

2. Work Surface : A4 size Arcylic sheet ( preferably with some A4 tracking papers but it is optional)

3. Precision Pen knife

4. Needle tool

5. 10cm Tissue Blade

6. Clay Roller

7. Assorted Earrings Shape cutters ( To cut your earrings out)

8. 6mm and 8mm Jump rings

9. E6000 glue or Gorila Superglue

10. Ear studs

11.Jewellery Pilers ( Flat nose and round nose)

12. Oven for baking the clay.

* A detailed description (with images) of the tools needed will be send to you via email after your purchase of our virtual workshop.

Optional tools ( Good to have but not a must)

1. Pasta Machine / Clay Machine 

2. Shapes and floral cutters

3. Floral silicon moulds.

4. Dotting tools.

5. Jewellery Hand Drill ( For drilling holes to assemble your earrings)

5. Mirco Circle Cutters ( if you do not have a hand drill to drill holes, you can use this to create holes on your earrings before baking)

► The class will only commence if we have 2 participants or more, if not we will re-schedule the class to the next available session.

*Maximum no. of participants per virtual workshop - 10pax

► We do not accept any change of date, or cancellations after the slots are booked. So please ensure you are available for the class before booking . No refunds / replacement class will be provided if you miss the virtual session.

*You may transfer your slot to another person if you are unable to attend the workshop.
